How to Get More Reviews For Your Small Business

You already know how important reviews are to your business, but do you know how to get them? Many businesses would love to get more Google reviews, which is why we put together a system you can use to have clients leave you feedback. Here are the steps you should take to get more reviews: 

1. Get Your Google Review Link

The first thing you’ll need to do is generate your review link to the Google My Business page you want reviews for. In order to do that you will take these steps: 

  • Login to your Google My Business account. 
  • Select the location you would like to manage. 
  • Click Home on the left-hand menu. 
  • Click on the “Get more reviews” card and copy the URL. 

This is the URL you’ll send to your customers and clients to get more reviews. It’s important you send them a direct link to make it easy for them to leave feedback. 

2. Send The Link Via Email or Text

Once your customer or client has used your services, send them the link via your preferred method. If you have a system that will send automatic emails or texts after appointments, this link can be added to the message. 

If you’d prefer to select the people you send a review link to, then draft a short request and your custom URL. Send it out to those that have not left feedback before. If you do have a client that you think would want to share their review on more than one platform, you can direct them to Yelp or Facebook to share. 

3. Send a Reminder 

We all get busy, and your clients are no different. If you send out a review link and they don’t leave feedback, that doesn’t mean they won’t. It could just be that they need a reminder to do it. Give them about 2 weeks and send out a quick reminder with your custom URL. 

4. Turn a Compliment Into an “Ask”

When you are meeting with a client or customer and they give you a compliment, this is a great opportunity to ask them to leave a review. All you have to do is ask if they’d be willing to share that same information on Google. If they agree, send them the link or have someone in the office share it with them when they go to leave. 

5. Set Out Signs

Sitting out signs in your office or around the checkout area is a great way to remind people that you want their feedback. All the sign needs to read is “Leave us a review on Google” or your place of choice. We recommend GMB because it will help your searchability. However, reviews on any outlet is important for consumers to decide if they should use you.
